Capt.
Edwin J. Lockwood (USCG-Ret.): Captain Lockwood is the founder
and Principal Marine Surveyor of Lockwood Marine Cargo Consultants.
He is a 1958 graduate of the The Citadel, where he earned a Bachelor
of Science degree in Commerce. In 1959, he was commissioned an officer
in the United States Coast Guard, where he served for twenty-seven
years, finally retiring at the rank of Captain (0-6). During his tenure
in the USCG, Capt. Lockwood pursued an advanced education in Pacific
Rim studies at the Dominican University in San Rafael, CA. |
Drawing on his extensive knowledge of ocean
vessels, upon his retirement from the US Coast Guard, Capt. Lockwood
joined Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, where he was promoted to
position of Chief Marine Surveyor and Manager of the Marine Loss
Control Department.
Captain Lockwood's maritime industry affiliations
include membership in the National Cargo Bureau and the San Francisco
Board of Marine Underwriters, and is internationally recognized
as an expert in his industry.
